Zoo

Tidings from the North Carolina Zoo!

Ok, this goes from the end of our trip to the beginning. (Sorry, that is probably an annoying way to view them, but it very time consuming to put them up and then to put them in the correct order!) All of the pictures with the family are included first, with all of the pictures of the animals after that. Again, this is only a small sampling of the pictures we took. I love taking pictures! They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so that means I've written tons! Enjoy!

J was so tired after all of the walking (guestimated at around 5 miles!) that he fell asleep very quickly once we were in the car.

We walked all of the way from one side of the zoo to the other and took the tram back to where we started!

J's nose is red from the italian ice that we had before lunch! It wouldn't wash off very well!

Ok, so at lunch time, there was a HUGE long line in the cafe, we couldn't even hardly get in the door, so we checked out the price of some italian ice. It was CRAZY expensive, but we didn't see any other options as you aren't allowed to bring food or drink into the zoo and we thought the if it was that expensive, the Cafe was probably along those prices. After we got it and ate (it took a while because they were bigger than the kind you get in the store), we went into the Cafe and they had real food for not as crazy prices, so then we got some normal food! S. even ate some of my lettuce from my salad and liked it!

J walked a lot of the way, but did get tired and was carried from time to time. :)

So precious! I remember Mom told me of when David and I once were walking hand in hand and how sweet it was for her and how she made a point of remembering it well because she figured if she went to get the camera, we would have stopped by the time she got back with it. That's what the picture below reminds me of.
Wayne was the only one to brave getting his picture taken with this!

I loved these flowers with all of the colors in 1 flower!

Here are the animals we saw (in reverse order)!

Hope you all enjoyed!

Botanical Gardens

On Aug. 12, the kids and I went with Aunt Anne to the Botanical Gardens. We we there for hours looking at all of the plants. They also had a water area. The kids wore swimsuits and could go in the sprinklers. I have put a very small sampling of pictures that we took (we took 351!) up online for your viewing pleasure. There are people, plants and butterflies. They are in no particular order.

Aunt Anne

This picture of J. just makes us laugh!

What a supermodel!

S. was talking to the geese and this one spoke back! I even took a partial video of it. It is hilarious!

This is an Eagle's nest. Aunt Anne told me that the area around it was blocked off for a time to keep it safe.

Just enjoying the view!

Hope you enjoyed!!
